D.A.N – Dambimangari Aboriginal Navigation

D.A.N

The D.A.N Program is an initiative designed to provide practical, culturally safe support for Dambimangari Members as they navigate health, social, and wellbeing services. Built on the principle that navigation is more than direction, it is about connection, care, and shared responsibility.

The program aims to provide practical and culturally safe assistance to members, ensuring no one navigates complex systems alone. The program is planned to deliver a range of targeted initiatives that respond to local needs and priorities, with a strong focus on empowerment, inclusion, and long-term impact.

D.A.N Navigators

At DAC we are supporting our members to be Wuddgam Wenee (job ready)!

We have created new positions called D.A.N Navigators, who form our DAN – Dambimangari Aboriginal Navigation – Team, supporting members into employment pathways, wellbeing and navigating life’s challenges.
Our Navigators work alongside Dambimangari members to understand individual goals and needs, and to help remove barriers to employment, training, health, education, and wellbeing. This can include support with job readiness, accessing services, meeting workplace requirements, and building confidence to move forward.
our D.A. N Team includes, Steve Martin as DAN Team Leader, Grace Matos, Dambeemangaddee member and DAN assistant, Anthony Edgar and Sheridan O’Malley who are both new to DAC and working as our two DAN Navigators, Community Support Officers Sirita Lightning and Kirk Woolagoodja.
