Cassandra McCumstie has been appointed Dambimangari Aboriginal Corporation (DAC) interim Chief Executive Officer.
The appointment, following the resignation of Stephen Crook, was announced yesterday by DAC Board chairman Francis Woolagoodja
“She has significant experience and knowledge of the Dambi Corporation and strong relationships with our stakeholders. As interim CEO, she will play a significant role in driving the corporation’s strategy, building the capability of the Dambi team and strengthening relationships,” he said
Ms McCumstie previously worked in senior management roles of the DAC for six years.
She said the board and management team were preparing for a year of major development and operational programs including
- ongoing community support
- environmental and conservation programs
- business development, including preparation for the upcoming tourism season
- planning for the future of Koolan and Cockatoo Islands and
- promotion of Dambi culture.
She said the implementation of the broad range of Dambi programs for the coming year would be discussed at the next Board meeting early in February
“One of the important advantages we have is a team of very capable and well respected managers,” she said. We also have board members who have delivered some significant achievements for the community. They have been joined by a new group keen to build on the success of the previous Board.
